Overview

MetaClip is a Windows application that reads metadata from multiple audio files (WAV, FLAC, M4A), formats it according to your specifications, and copies it to the clipboard.

Perfect for creating track lists and indexes for custom CDs.

How to Use

Basic Usage

Select audio files
Drag and drop them onto MetaClip.exe (or its shortcut)
Select a format from the menu (enter a number from 1-6)
Formatted text is automatically copied to the clipboard

Tip: You can select and drag multiple files at once. They will be automatically sorted by track number.

Format Selection

When you run the program, the following menu appears:

Select output format:
1. track_number title
2. track_number artist - title
3. artist - title
4. album - track_number title
5. artist - album - track_number title
6. Custom format
Enter format number (1-6):

Custom Format

When you select "6", you can specify your own format.

System Requirements

OS: Windows 11 / Windows 10
.NET Framework (usually pre-installed on Windows)

WAV (.wav)
FLAC (.flac)
M4A (AAC/ALAC) (.m4a)

Note: For files without embedded metadata, the format will not be applied and the filename (without extension) will be output as-is.

Troubleshooting

Metadata Not Displaying Correctly

Verify that the files have embedded metadata
Ensure the files are in a supported format (WAV, FLAC, M4A)

Program Does Not Start

Launch by dragging and dropping files onto the executable
Double-clicking the executable directly will not work

Not Copying to Clipboard

Check if other applications are using the clipboard
Verify that security software is not blocking clipboard access
